Hello Fashionista’s! It’s the middle of the week and the last day of my Style 101 course. Aw it’s so sad that it’s coming to an end; I really enjoyed doing this and I hope you all did too. I will wrap up the course with how-to conquer your closet. There are top 10 tips to keeping your closet neat and orderly:
1)Think eye level –place frequently worn clothes at eye level
2)Lift shoes –don’t put shoes on the floor, instead find a hanging door rack or shoe rack for them
3)Stash boots –store upright with opposite ends together saves space
4)Fold knits –sweaters and delicate clothing should be folded and not hung, so they keep shape
5)Pair like items –put like items together; pants on one rack, skirts on another, separate long and short sleeves; color coordinate clothing for easy access (I do this one)
6)Maximize space –place horizontal bars at different heights for different items; by placing bars higher you can make use of the space better
7)Clear the decks –don’t store loose items at the bottom; keep rarely used items in a box at the bottom; keep it neat
8)Keep shelves spare –don’t over stuff shelves; 3 or 4 sweater or tops per shelf for ease of finding
9)Rotate clothes seasonally –only one season in the main closet at a time to find pieces easier
10)Buy quality hangers –keep them uniform and neat; plastic, metal or wooden –just pick one
Clean your closet and organize your fabulous wardrobes, Fashionista’s!

Hello F@shionist@’s! In-style’s Style 101 Summer Course continues this week for 3 days. FashionGirl will only have 3 new blogs and start next week with the regular format. Today is How-To decipher any dress code. There are 4 occasions I will include:

3)Semiformal/Cocktail –be aware of the time of day (night is more formal than daytime)
•Women –bring out your fun and elegant cocktail dress.

Wednesday: How-To Trim your bangs!
Hey F@shionist@’s, need a little trim for your bangs, but don’t have the time or money for the salon? Why not trim them yourself. Before you begin make sure you have proper hair-cutting scissors, a round brush, a comb, a blow dryer, and clips.
1)Start by applying a styling gel from roots to ends of wet hair. Use your rounded brush to blow dry bangs into your usual style. NEVER CUT HAIR WHEN IT’S STILL WET!
2)Next, section off your bangs with a part above bangs and tuck/clip the rest of your hair away.
3)Decide on length –using a comb divide bangs in half and start with one side. Gently push down on bangs with back of comb and rest it against brow bone. Brow line is safety position, don’t cut above and don’t pull/press bangs when cutting.
4)Point-cut (which means snipping into nag section at 45 degree angle) Cut small sections and move slowly. NEVER CUT STRAIGHT ACROSS! It’s harder and can be uneven.
5)Check your work! Step back and check again until you are satisfied.

Hello Fashionista’s! Welcome to week 2 of my FashionGirl Style 101 summer course to being fashionable. This week will be 6 days of beauty how-to tips. I will start with a traditional favorite: How-to create the perfect smokey eye look. When creating this look there are 3 things to remember:

•Brush foundation over your entire eye lid
•Next use an eye-shadow brush to apply a neutral shade of shadow (bronze, maybe)
•Follow up with a medium-tone shadow (gray or purple are common) from lash to crease
2.Line
•With a small, firm brush trace eyes with dark matte shadow and blend
•Other shadows to try are deep green or brown
3.Lighten
•At the end make eyes come alive with a shimmery shadow on inner corners of eyes. With a small brush highlight a v-shaped section on inner corners and blend

Wednesday: How-To Recognize Quality!
Hello Fashionista’s! Today’s lesson is all about quality. One thing to remember is to get the best quality you can afford to. You don’t need the top brands to have the best quality! There are six things to consider:
1)Experiment –try on the top brands to see how an investment piece (like a suit) should feel, hang and drape. Then try to find a similar one at a lower price point.
2)Do you feel label pressure? –the designer label can indicate quality, but how it’s made is more important.
3)Know the fabrics –beware of sheen suits and microfibers. If something looks wrinkled on the hanger in the store, it’s better to leave it there.
4)Test ALL zippers and buttons BEFORE you buy!
5)Check all seams, hems and stitches for pulling or puckering.
6)Check the garments lining to see how it feels and was constructed.
Quality in garments is the most aspect. If the qualities good you will likely buy from that designer again!

Tuesday: How-To Shop Sales!
Hey Fashionista’s! Style 101 continues with How-to shop sales! There are four basics to the sales rack:
1)Know what’s really a bargain! It’s only a good deal if you are going to wear it and how it will fit into your current wardrobe.
2)Take a moment and go over your items before you head to the check! Ask yourself questions about each piece. Am I actually going to wear this? Will I get it tailored? What will it go with?
3)Hit the stores at the right time of the year! Most department stores do markdowns 6-8 weeks after the new merchandise arrives. Also the week after Christmas and Memorial Day are big too.
4)Know return policies! Some stores sale items are “Final Sale”, which means NO returning.
Search for those summer sales, Fashionista’s, and find something fabulous!

Hey there! So this past Monday, the Secret Life of the American Teenager premiered its summer season on ABC Family at 8/7pm central. Did anyone watch it or TiVo it? If you did you will know that it is packed full of drama and oh-so-addicting. Monday nights premiere was good. Ben told Amy he stills love her, but they decided to just be friends (I wonder how long it will last). Adrian says she isn’t pregnant (Is is telling the truth, did she get an abortion). Jack’s parents are moving to Arizona and he needs to find a friend to live with to complete senior year and asks Madison and her parents (umm, probably not the best idea). Ashley went with her Dad to get birth control pills and her Mom found out that she got them and so did Amy (this family keeps a lot of secrets). Want to know more, check it out on Monday nights!

Wednesday: Fashion News: Forever 21!
Hello! You all probably have been to or at least heard of Forever 21, Fashionista’s! I took a little shopping trip recently, much unplanned, to Forever 21 and never knew they had such fabulous finds at very reasonable prices. I got a fabulous pair of black skinny pants with zipper pockets on the front for $13.50! Plus there was so much more I wanted that I couldn’t get. Why can’t they let me borrow and return; Like rental clothing? : ) Cute jackets, skirts, rompers, shorts, dresses, accessories, etc. Stop by your local Forever 21 this weekend or shop online (just not too much) at www.forever21.com!

Tuesday: Trend: Dresses For Summer!
Hey the Fashionista’s! The trend for the week …wait no …the summer is DRESSES!! Dresses are a summer staple and definitely worth investing in. The choices are endless when choosing summer dresses. Flow-y skirts, tight, empire waist, dropped waist, short sleeve, skinny strap, flutter sleeve, short, at-the-knee, long, colorful, floral, black-and-white, plaid. So many styles that it’s hard to choose, but remember to choose a style that complements your body, doesn’t show off too much of you, and above all fits with your personal style!

Monday: Accessories: Flashy Fingers!
Hey Fashionista’s! Another fashionable summer week is beginning, so before you head out to the beach or pool check out the hot fashion finds on FashionGirl! The accessory that I’m rocking lately is amazing rings from small to large, double or triple finger, etc. Rings can be an instant pop of glam to any boring or basic outfit (like professional clothing that many of us wear to a summer job)! They add a little shine and shimmer to your look. Change it up with colorful options and unique shapes.
