Hello Fashionista’s! It’s the middle of the week and the last day of my Style 101 course. Aw it’s so sad that it’s coming to an end; I really enjoyed doing this and I hope you all did too. I will wrap up the course with how-to conquer your closet. There are top 10 tips to keeping your closet neat and orderly:
1)Think eye level –place frequently worn clothes at eye level
2)Lift shoes –don’t put shoes on the floor, instead find a hanging door rack or shoe rack for them
3)Stash boots –store upright with opposite ends together saves space
4)Fold knits –sweaters and delicate clothing should be folded and not hung, so they keep shape
5)Pair like items –put like items together; pants on one rack, skirts on another, separate long and short sleeves; color coordinate clothing for easy access (I do this one)
6)Maximize space –place horizontal bars at different heights for different items; by placing bars higher you can make use of the space better
7)Clear the decks –don’t store loose items at the bottom; keep rarely used items in a box at the bottom; keep it neat
8)Keep shelves spare –don’t over stuff shelves; 3 or 4 sweater or tops per shelf for ease of finding
9)Rotate clothes seasonally –only one season in the main closet at a time to find pieces easier
10)Buy quality hangers –keep them uniform and neat; plastic, metal or wooden –just pick one
Clean your closet and organize your fabulous wardrobes, Fashionista’s!

Tuesday: How-To Look Better in Photos!
Hey! Fashionable people love being in pictures and definitely want to look better when the camera flashes. Learn to look skinnier, brighter, bolder, fiercer, confident, and model perfect in your next pictures. There are 10 aspects to be thinking about before the camera flashes:
1) Face –straighten head, relax shoulders, chin out, slightly downward is perfect
2) Hair –leave your hair down or ½ updo; let hair gently frame face
3) Smile –place tip of tongue behind teeth as you smile for a genuine smile
4) Arms –never rest them against your torso, instead angle them back from your body
5) Dress –in solid dark color, dipping necklines for flattering look; don’t wear clingy pieces
6) Feet –position one foot in front of the other, swivel hips and turn feet slightly away from camera
7) Skin –use foundation or cover up for under eye circles; natural light is more flattering
8) Head –authentic smile
9) Hands –point hands down around edges of hips; don’t hold a drink
10) Diaphragm –breath out before the flash to relax face and body
Smile for the camera, F@shionist@’s!

Monday: Hot-To Decipher a Dress Code!
Hello F@shionist@’s! In-style’s Style 101 Summer Course continues this week for 3 days. FashionGirl will only have 3 new blogs and start next week with the regular format. Today is How-To decipher any dress code. There are 4 occasions I will include:
1)Black Tie –elegant and traditional is required.
•Women –think about location and type of event; you can go with a traditional full-length gown or an elegant, yet classy cocktail shift dress. Try to stay traditional!
•Men –Tuxedos are a must!
2)Formal/Black-Tie Optional –this is still formal with some trendier pieces added in.
•Women –can opt for a shorter but still formal dress instead of a gown.
•Men –can opt for a tux with a black shirt and no tie; or if no tuxedo a dark suit.
3)Semiformal/Cocktail –be aware of the time of day (night is more formal than daytime)
•Women –bring out your fun and elegant cocktail dress.
•Men –can wear a dark suit; tuxes are not required.
4)Festive/Dressy Casual –this means “make an effort and show your personality”
•Women –think sparkly, yet classy. A beaded camisole and black pants or skirt
•Men –think dressy casual; make an effort, don’t come too casual in shorts or t-shirt
Be in the know and dress to impress at your next party or event, Fashionista’s!

Saturday: How-To Do Your Own Manicure!
It’s the weekend F@shionist@’s and what a better way to start it off than with a relaxing DIY at-home manicure. Save money, relax and get fabulous nails for the weekend. There are 6 easy steps:
1)Clean and trim –soak a cotton ball in polish remover and swipe from base to tip. To make short fingers appear longer, keep your nails rounded
2)File and shape –sweep a file in one direction across your nails to file and shape
3)Soak them –in a small bowl filled with warm soapy water emerge finger tips for 4 minutes
4)Soften cuticles –soften cuticles with cuticle cream, oil or balm by massaging it onto them and let it soak in for 3 minutes; now you can push cuticles back without hurting them
5)Clean and Moisturize –push cuticles back gently and then massage in hand cream
6)Apply Polish –wipe nails with remover, then apply base coat. Once dry apply one or two coats and finally apply a topcoat
Have pretty nails for the weekend, F@shionist@’s!

Friday: How-To Be Sunscreeen Savvy!
It’s Friday F@shionist@’s and that might mean a weekend of having fun in the sun. Be smart when going outside and lather on the sunscreen. In-style has 10 tips to protect you from harmful UV rays.
1)Choose a formula –make sure the sunscreen includes UVA and UVB
2)Get a number –know how much sum protection each gives; at least SPF 15–SPF 30
3)Give yourself time –apply sunscreen 15-30 minutes before going outside
4)Reapply –reapply after 20 minutes of going outside; then every 2 hours after that
5)Get full coverage –make sure you apply enough from head to toe; sprays are easier
6)Be safe –apply water-resistant formulas and make sure you reapply it!
7)Are you sensitive –don’t mix too many products; glycolic acids make skim photosensitive
8)Remember eyes and lips –lip balm with SPF 15 is a must!
9)Protect your face –apply formulas in the AM with sunscreen and hydrating ingredients
10)Tan safely –try sunscreen with self-tanner in it
Sun safety is a must, F@ashionist@’s!

Wednesday: How-To Trim your bangs!
Hey F@shionist@’s, need a little trim for your bangs, but don’t have the time or money for the salon? Why not trim them yourself. Before you begin make sure you have proper hair-cutting scissors, a round brush, a comb, a blow dryer, and clips.
1)Start by applying a styling gel from roots to ends of wet hair. Use your rounded brush to blow dry bangs into your usual style. NEVER CUT HAIR WHEN IT’S STILL WET!
2)Next, section off your bangs with a part above bangs and tuck/clip the rest of your hair away.
3)Decide on length –using a comb divide bangs in half and start with one side. Gently push down on bangs with back of comb and rest it against brow bone. Brow line is safety position, don’t cut above and don’t pull/press bangs when cutting.
4)Point-cut (which means snipping into nag section at 45 degree angle) Cut small sections and move slowly. NEVER CUT STRAIGHT ACROSS! It’s harder and can be uneven.
5)Check your work! Step back and check again until you are satisfied.
