Tuesday: Trend: Spring!

Hey there, today’s trend is spring. With the start of March and Spring Break coming up, I think spring should be on every Fashionista’s mind. This week’s top trends for spring come from the March issue of Seventeen magazine.

Destroyed pieces are being seen on the runway. From ripped denim or leggings to frayed and slashed pieces, the “destroyed look” is one spring trend embraced by designers Just Cavalli, Balmain, and Herve Leger.

Mixed prints were seen on Versace and Proenza Schouler runways. Get this look by pairing a large bold print with smaller patterns for a “thrown together” casual weekend or class look.

Tribal earthy tones and geometric prints are another colorful trend for spring. With interesting patterns and colors, there’s definitely something for everyone. Gucci and Dries Van Noten are two designers who are embracing the tribal trend.

Prairie trends like tiny florals, faded leather and beat-up denim look pretty and laid-back. The “Prairie look” is being embraced this spring by Chanel, D&G, and Ralph Lauren.

Rosettes can be big flowers and bright hues that make a sweet print vibrant and fun. Moschino and Dolce & Gabbana are bringing girly color to spring with flowers and bold colors. Betsey Johnson has a fabulous red rosette and skull bag that’s available at www.betseyjohnson.com.

Military looks that are army-inspired, yet still girly with details, ruffles and bows is another spring trend. Alexander Wang, Chloe, and Rag & Bone are three designers embracing this trend with forest green, khaki, brown and black. From a chic sweater vest to cargo-like Capri’s and shorts to belts over dresses and shirts military looks are a trend being seen this spring.
